Corrections Policy

Effective date: 3 August 2026

CounselorAid aims to correct material errors clearly and promptly. Readers, professionals and organisations may report concerns through the contact page.

Concerns we review

  • Incorrect clinical or scientific statements
  • Unsupported effectiveness or safety claims
  • Wrong terminology, classification or treatment-module placement
  • Missing contraindications or potentially harmful instructions
  • Broken sources, inaccurate attribution or quotation problems
  • Scoring, calculation or interpretation errors in assessments
  • Accessibility, formatting or download errors
  • Undisclosed commercial relationships

How reports are assessed

The editorial team checks the relevant page, original source and current authoritative guidance. Where specialist judgment is required, publication may be paused or wording narrowed until appropriate review is available. A report is not automatically accepted, but it should be evaluated on evidence rather than status or affiliation.

Types of correction

  • Minor correction: Spelling, grammar, formatting or a broken link that does not change meaning.
  • Substantive correction: A change to a fact, recommendation, safety statement, interpretation or evidence claim.
  • Major revision: A page is rewritten when multiple errors or outdated assumptions affect the overall reliability.
  • Withdrawal: A resource may be removed from public access when it is unsafe, substantially inaccurate, improperly attributed or not suitable for continued distribution.

Correction notices

Material changes should be noted on the page when the earlier wording may have affected a reader’s understanding or safety. The updated date should reflect an actual content or evidence review rather than a cosmetic edit.

No retaliation for good-faith reports

Good-faith correction requests are welcomed. Personal information submitted with a report is handled according to the site’s privacy policy.
