Notice emotional patterns, organise coping options and build a more realistic recovery plan.
These emotional-wellness and resilience worksheets support everyday reflection on emotions, triggers, coping, stress, burnout, recovery and self-compassion. They complement—but do not replace—professional assessment or treatment when distress is severe or persistent.

1. Emotion identification journal
| Situation | Emotion | Intensity 0–100 | Body cue | Action urge | What I needed |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Use the Emotional Awareness Check to identify which part of the process needs attention.
2. Trigger and body-cue map
- Common situations or reminders
- Early physical signs
- Thoughts or images that usually appear
- Typical urges or behaviours
- What tends to intensify the reaction
- What helps create enough space to choose
3. Emotional response planner
Choose one repeated emotional situation and plan three stages: early response, peak response and recovery. Include one body-based strategy, one attention strategy, one practical action and one support person or service.
4. Coping skills plan
| Type of coping | Options that help me | Options that create problems |
|---|---|---|
| Problem-solving | ||
| Emotional regulation | ||
| Support-seeking | ||
| Rest and recovery | ||
| Avoidance or risky coping |
Pair this with the Coping Skills Profile.
5. Stress recovery plan
- Current demands: What is consuming time, attention or emotional energy?
- Control: What can I change, influence, postpone, delegate or accept?
- Recovery gaps: Sleep, food, movement, quiet, connection or boundaries?
- Immediate reduction: What can be simplified during the next 48 hours?
- Recovery action: What will I schedule rather than merely intend?
- Escalation signs: When will I seek professional or organisational support?
6. Burnout warning-signs worksheet
Record signs across exhaustion, detachment, effectiveness, workload and recovery. Separate personal coping from work conditions that require structural change. Use the Burnout Risk Check for a fuller review.
7. Resilience builder
- Challenge: What happened?
- Impact: What changed emotionally, practically or relationally?
- Resources: Which strengths, people, routines or services are available?
- Flexibility: What assumption or plan may need revision?
- Agency: What remains within my control?
- Meaning: What matters enough to guide the next step?
8. Self-compassion break
Write three brief statements: acknowledge the difficulty, recognise that struggle is part of human experience and choose a kind but accountable next response. Self-compassion does not require excusing harm or abandoning standards.

Important limits
A worksheet cannot provide crisis care, diagnose a disorder or make an unsafe environment safe. Seek immediate local help when there is risk of self-harm, suicide, violence or medical emergency. Trauma reactions, abuse, addiction, severe mood changes or major functional decline require appropriately qualified support.
